How old do I need to be to rent a car?
You need to be 21 years old to rent a car with Discount Jeeps.
Where do I pick-up and drop-off the car?
To make things easy for you, Discount Jeeps will make your rental car available at any hotel/hostel in the Reykjavik area or at the BSI central bus station for free. The same applies at the end of the rental period. You can drop off the car at any hotel/hostel in the Reykjavik area or at the BSI central bus station for free. Pick up and drop-off at the Keflavik airport are available under certain circumstances (bookings exceeding 50.000 ISK).

What happens if my car breaks down?
We realize that your time in Iceland is valuable. In the unlikely event that your car breaks down, we will fix or replace your car, usually in a matter of hours.
Am I insured?
CDW (Collision damage waiver) insurance is included in the rental price. Self risk is 260 thousand ISK. It is possible to buy additional SCDW (Super collision damage waiver) for 1200 ISK per day. SCDW insurance comes with a self risk of 85 thousand ISK. It is not possible to lower the self risk any further as we want to encourage you to drive carefully and return the vehicle in the same condition as you got it in.
How do I book a car? When do I pay?
To make a reservation, simply click the “Book a car!” button on the right hand side of the page. You will be asked to fill out a booking form with the date, time and location at which you wish to collect and return the car. At this point you can also choose to purchase additional insurance or other “extras”. We will check if the car you selected is available and get back to you with a quote within 24 hours. If you are happy with our offer, we will send you a link for secure payment (VISA or MasterCard). Your credit card will be charged the full amount upon reservation – 90% of which is refundable up to 48 hours before the rental period begins. Do your prices include unlimited mileage?
Yes.
Can I reserve a vehicle and pay on arrival?
Unfortunately this is not possible. As we are fully booked over the summer, we have little flexibility in dealing with last minute changes to reservations or cancellations. Charging the full amount of the rental to your credit card upon booking insures that the car is reserved for you for the time period you selected. Please see our cancellation policy below.
What is your cancellation policy?
90% of the amount paid upon reservation is refundable up to 48 hours before the rental period begins.
Can I rent extra equipment (e.g. baby seat, GPS navigation system…)?
Yes. Just let us know in advance what extras you need and we will have them ready in the car when you collect it. Please check the “Insurance and extras” section to see our offering.
Do I need an International driving license?
If your driving licence is of non-roman alphabet, an International driving licence will be required in addition to your standard driving licence.
What documents do I need to have on me when I collect the car?
You will need to carry your driving license, passport and credit card so the Discount Jeeps employee who delivers your car can make copies and verify your identity.

Can I drive on all roads?
The roads you can drive on depend on the type of vehicle you are renting. The rules are set out in the Terms & Conditions. If you do not respect these restrictions, insurances will no longer apply. The driver will be held fully responsible and liable in case of accidents, and will bear all consequences, including the cost of repair of the damaged vehicle.
What is your Privacy Policy?
Your e-mail address and personal information are used to conduct business between Discount Jeeps and yourself. Your personal information is never given, rented, or sold to anyone else, for any reason.
